damaka's technology platform has an underlying true Peer to Peer (P2P) architecture with direct peering. This is made possible by our innovative, patented distributed 'Personal Softswitch™' application component. This Personal Softswitch has a built-in intelligence of a Softswitch, Session Border Controller (SBC), and Media Gateway as a result of which, each device in the P2P network can act like a standalone switch that supports call control, call management and call routing functions from the edge. There is a dynamic lookup capability provided in the technology stack that helps identify other peers without the need of a third party server or relay node.

Both SIP signaling and RTP data are completely Peer-to-Peer between the clients. damaka's P2P client is highly secure as both signaling and media packets are end to end encrypted. This application has the capability to perform dynamic routing of calls based on customer requirements. The P2P architecture is highly scalable with very minimal hardware requirements thus a desired choice where deployment decisions involve cost sensitive analysis.

damaka's P2P technology enables customers to host and manage their own P2P network. This is particularly attractive for customers who are service providers embarking on a green field projects.

damaka's P2P technology components are SIP based and is a total software solution. It easily integrates with existing VOIP infrastructure and 3rd party PSTN termination gateways. The Quality of Service (QoS) is configurable and supports CLASS 5 and IP-PBX features. Video (H.263 / H.264), audio and IM conference features, application sharing, voicemail, videomail, whiteboarding, audio/video streaming, file transfer, fax over IP, IPTV, Internet Radio, Federated IM with connectivity to Yahoo, MSN, Google, AOL, ICQ, integration to MS Office Suite, Sweeping™ are only a partial list of more than 150 features that are supported.
